All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association Reports Gold Price Soaring to Rs. 211,350 per Tola

The price of gold in Pakistan has experienced significant fluctuations recently, with prices crossing Rs. 211,000 per tola. According to data from the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA), the cost of 24-carat gold surged by Rs. 2,900 per tola, reaching Rs. 211,350, while the price of 10 grams increased by Rs. 2,486, hitting Rs. 181,198. This increase followed two consecutive days of minor declines and a previous increase of Rs. 1,250 per tola. In total, gold prices have risen by Rs. 3,000 per tola during the week.

These local price movements are closely tied to the international market and the exchange rate between the rupee and the dollar. The rupee has recently depreciated against the dollar, while international gold prices have been on the rise. In the global market, spot gold saw a 0.4 percent increase to $1,986.69 per ounce, and US gold futures increased by 0.1 percent to $1,996.80. This volatility in gold prices has raised economic concerns and prompted investors to closely monitor the situation, as the relationship between currency exchange rates and international trends continues to influence the local gold market.
